Missing

What's wrong with this picture?
(Other than the tribute to Harry Potter on her forehead)
Nothing. Except for that's what Audrey looks like today.

And this is what she looked like last December.
9 months later and still no teeth.

Hellooo Santa? All she wants is her two darn front teeth. Maybe this year, eh?

To keep Justin from feeling left out, we let him help with everything baby Ty needs.

(Yes my house is a total wreck.
And you can tell that I really care as I sit in the recliner in the background

Baby Bliss

I hope to get back to blogging on a regular basis soon, but I've been a little preoccupied.

The kids can't get enough of him either. They beg to hold him even if he's screaming the whole time. I'm quite impressed with their levels of patience. Justin seriously laughs at him like he's just being so silly with all that crying. Then he takes Ty's face in his hands and says, "Listen. Listen." Every time he walks by him he has to smooch him all over his head and tell me "So cute, Mom. So cute." Which is why I find little chunks of cereal bar or goldfish in Ty's hair all day long. Sometimes if I say to leave the baby alone so he can sleep, he says "Mom, let me kiss. Just let me kiss."

Ty coos and smiles and responds to our baby talk. I guess he's decided since he's the size of a 3-month-old he should play the part. He's not just chubby (14 lb 7 oz at 1 month) but he's loooong (24 inches). Like his legs hang over my side when I'm feeding him, instead of being all scrunched up to his belly. He has the still a little wobbly head of a 7-week-old but that's about it.

There's just something about a baby in a white onesie....so cute.

I won't relay too many details of my hospital experience, but everything went very well there. All of my nurses were awesome, except for the very first one who checked me in and did all the initial prep for the c-section. She seemed annoyed that I was complaining about the catheter being extremely uncomfortable and then made me walk to the O.R. Actually, maybe that's their policy but I think she was punishing me for being such a wimp.

The rest of the nurses were great. They didn't assume that since this was my 5th time going through it that I know everything. I don't know about other moms but I forget stuff, so it's nice to be reminded what to do....."Oh, I'm supposed to feed the baby AND change his diaper?"

Just like during my last c-section, I watched Steve's face through the whole thing. His expressions told me my internal organs were all over the operating room. As long as they were all put back in the right spot I guess it doesn't matter ☺. I was lucky to have a fantastic OB who is also a great surgeon. The nurses knew he was my doctor by looking at my incision. My scar has all but disappeared. He says he's OCD about surgery. That's probably a good thing.

Before they sewed me up they counted all the instruments they used, twice. So there are no scalpels in my abdomen thank you very much.

And then my doctor told me, "We're going to talk about birth control at your 6 week appointment - because you need it."

And then the nurse brought out the underwear. Am I the only one who loves the mesh undies they give you? They are so stretchy and comfy, especially after a c-section.

And then, for the 5th time after giving birth, I threw up.
